CONGRATULATIONS 2007 AFM CLASS CHAMPIONS!!!!
Mark Elrod - 2007 AFM 450cc Production Class Champion
At the September 9th, 2007 round of the AFM races at Thunderhill, Mark won the race and earned enough points to mathematically wrap up the championship. As of that race, Mark can sit out the last 2 races of the season and will still be crowned the 2007 AFM 450cc Production Class Champion.
Today, September 30, 2007, Mark won the AFM 450cc Superbike race, beating long-time track nemesis (friend and teammate) Mike Lohmeyer for the first time. This promoted Mark to 2nd place overall in that class by one point against the previous 2nd place points-holder. The fight for that 2nd place Championship spot will go to the last round at Buttonwillow Raceway October 21, 2007.
On a special note, we must thank Bob Simmons for the loan of his G-Force built NC428V Clubman motor to Mark for the past 2 rounds. Without this loan, this Championship may not have been possible, nor the win today and the chance at 2nd place in 450cc Superbike.
Mike Lohmeyer - 2007 AFM 450cc Superbike Class Champion
As of today's race, Mike Lohmeyer has now earned enough points that he (like Mark) has mathematically wrapped up the championship. He could sit out the last race and will still be crowned the 2007 AFM 450cc Superbike Class Champion. Although Mike missed one race due to the Gen 4 crank failure, and finished 2nd place to Mark in an exciting dice from flag to flag today, Mike has dominated every other race this season in true G-Force style.
Good post. I like to read your posts. well written. thank you.
